Philadelphia Teen Pregnancy - Black Women's Health Alliance

By Lauren Dunn This is a video interview assignment for an audio and visual news-gathering class for Temple University. The assignment focuses on the Black Women’s Health Alliance, a private nonprofit community-based organization that promotes the physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being of African-American women and women of color.

Cheryl Carroll, CMA Women’s Health Alliance Durham and Midwife with Midwifery at WHA discusses birth control and making choices and decisions with the sound guidance of a Certified Nurse Midwife. Midwifery goes far beyond the scope of child birth and covers all of women’s routine gynecological needs from womb to tomb.
